TURKLAB member laboratories conducting “Halal Conformity Testing“ are expanding their capacity with accreditation from HAK.
On October 14, 2021, TURKLAB organized a seminar on “Accreditation Program for Laboratories Conducting Halal Testing”, presented by Zafer Soylu, Chairman of the Board of the Halal Accreditation Agency (HAK). The seminar was attended by TURKLAB members, industry representatives, technical experts, and stakeholders.
At the end of the seminar, TURKLAB President Halit Karaboğa presented a plaque of appreciation to Zafer Soylu for his contributions and collaborations in the sector.
With 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide, the demand for certification of halal products and services continues to grow. Today, the concept of halal extends beyond food products to industries such as finance, textiles, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, logistics, and tourism. The fact that halal-certified products must meet health, hygiene, and quality standards throughout the entire production and distribution process highlights the increasing awareness and importance of halal certification.
TURKLAB is pleased to see its members, particularly those serving export-oriented clients, expanding their capacities in this field.
In this regard, Oxigen Analiz Laboratuvar Hizmetleri Ticaret Ltd. Şti. became the first private laboratory in the sector to receive the “Halal Accreditation Certificate – Laboratory Conducting Halal Compliance Testing” under the OIC/SMIIC 35:2020 Standard on February 11, 2022.
