The Future of Metrology Discussed at the TÜBİTAK UME Board Meeting
TURKLAB was represented at the TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute (UME) 2025 Advisory Board Meeting held on 23 October 2025 by Mr. Serkan TÜRK, Member of the Board and Secretary General.
The TÜBİTAK UME Advisory Board Meeting was convened with the participation of 62 members, consisting of representatives from universities, civil society organizations, private and public institutions, and companies operating in the field of metrology in Türkiye.
Following the briefing presentation on the 2024 activities delivered by TÜBİTAK UME Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çetintaş, participants shared their views and suggestions regarding the needs, challenges, opportunities, and advancements in the field of metrology—an essential component of the quality infrastructure.
The meeting also addressed TÜBİTAK UME’s plans and objectives, the enhancement of relations and coordination with other institutions, the functioning of the national measurement and calibration system, and potential work and investment areas to enable the Institute to assume a more effective role in this system.
